In Ethiopia, like many low- and middle-income countries, mammalian tuberculosis (mTB) remains a major concern. The highly contagious and chronic bacterial disease infects cattle and other domesticated animals. In Ethiopia alone, it affects around 3.8 million cattle. This coupled with an estimated 2.4% prevalence of zoonotic tuberculosis in the country, amounts to the region bearing a high burden of mTB.
